Coverage

Insurance is essential when traveling because it helps you deal with unexpected setbacks that may occur during your trip.

• Protecting Your Travel Investment

If your flight is delayed or canceled due to the weather or your luggage is delayed or lost, travel insurance can protect your travel investment and can offer compensation for delayed, damaged, or stolen items.

• Medical Coverage

It is especially important now, following the global pandemic, to have travel insurance covering medical expenses (as required by some countries) in the event of a medical emergency during your trip. No matter what type of travel you have planned, whether you are traveling for pleasure, business, or with a group, medical insurance coverage is highly recommended especially when traveling outside the US.

Knowing you have coverage for the unexpected can help you feel more at ease while traveling, so you can fully focus on enjoying your trip and make the most of your experience.

FAQ

What type of travel do these policies cover?

The various insurance plans will provide protection for you while traveling both within the United States and internationally.

Are these plans valid for individuals, adult groups, and student groups?

To be eligible for these plans, travelers must reside in the United States. Plans are applicable to individuals as well as adult groups. For student groups, you will need to contact our insurance department.

How much should I insure my trip for?

You will need to insure all nonrefundable components of your trip such as airfare, tours, hotel expenses, etc.

What should I do if I don't know the amount of my penalties?

You can purchase a plan based on the full cost of your trip. If the final cost of your trip ends up being different from the amount you covered on your policy, you can contact liana@traveland.net to adjust the amount of coverage. If you are traveling with a group, be sure to include your group name and plan code in your message when you contact her.

When should I buy travel insurance?

Our suggestion is to purchase travel insurance as soon as you pay the initial deposit. This will allow you to have more plans to choose from. You have the option to purchase a plan up to 3 days before your departure, but you may not qualify for specific benefits.

How can I qualify to purchase the “Cancel for Any Reason” plan (CFAR)?

The CFAR plan can only be purchased within 21 days of making your first payment towards your trip. (After 21 days, CFAR will no longer be available for you to purchase.)

Is my policy refundable?

You can cancel your policy within 14 days of purchase and receive a full refund, as long as you have not left on your trip, you have not had any issues that you need to claim, and you haven’t filed a claim under that policy. After the 14 days have passed, you may be issued a credit for future use, pending insurance company approval.

Is it possible to add the option to cancel for any reason if I have already purchased a policy?

It is only possible to register for the cancel for any reason option if the initial deposit towards the trip was made within 21 days from when your policy was purchased.

Do these plans cover COVID related disturbances?

If you need to make a claim for things like canceling your trip, interrupting your trip, or getting sick or injured during your trip, the insurance company will treat Covid-19 just like any other illness. To make a claim related to a positive Covid-19 test, you will need to provide documentation from an official medical testing service (not a home test). If you want to learn more about how the insurance plan covers issues related to Covid-19, you can contact our office for more specific questions.

What is the process for filing a claim?

To file a claim, you can either go online or call 1-800-243-3174 then select option 3. Make sure to keep all relevant receipts and documentation to support your claim. If you are making a claim for canceling your trip, it is important to submit your claim as soon as possible. If you have the “Cancel for Any Reason” coverage, you must cancel your trip a maximum of 48 hours before your scheduled departure. Cancellations made within 48 hours of departure will not be approved for CFAR. For all other types of claims, you should report the loss to the insurance company as soon as possible after you return from your trip.

If my luggage is lost or delayed, will I be reimbursed for purchasing essentials?

Yes, you can depending on which plan you purchased. Please refer to your plan for more specific details. Make sure you open a lost luggage claim directly with the airline and keep your lost luggage report as well as a receipt of the claim and the delivery receipt.

I am about to miss my connection on the way to my destination because my flight is delayed or canceled and I choose to take a different flight. Will the policy cover the expenses of the new flight?

Different plans cover different benefits. Please check with your travel planner regarding the ramifications of taking an alternate flight.

There is no cost for children under 18 when traveling with parents.
